The Universe Is Love

The future can exist only when we understand the universe as composed of subjects to be communed with, not as objects to be exploited. —Thomas Berry [1] [Doug: The Service to Others Path, or the Positive Path, as illumined in the Law of One shows how symbiotic relationality undergirds the whole of the United Fabric of Being. Unlike the Service to Self path, the Positive Path knows and operates within the gnosis of this unity.  Humans are

called, “Selves,” and “Other Selves.” This is true for all of creation, for we are all fractals of the Great Self, the Infinite Creator.]

Cynthia Bourgeault, a faculty member at the Center for Action and Contemplation, writes about how the ancient Wisdom tradition views creation:

Contrary to our usual theological notion, which sees God as “having” certain qualities—such as love, truth, and justice—Wisdom correctly perceives that there are certain states, or qualities of being, that cannot be known (or even truly said to exist) in potential but only in actual manifestation. God “has” these qualities by virtue of enacting them. “I was a hidden treasure and longed to be known,” says God, according to an ancient Islamic teaching, “and so I created the world.” [2] [Doug: This is similar to saying that Intelligent Energy taps Intelligent Infinity under the intention to bring Love (the force of unity) into manifestation in the world.]

Foremost among these qualities . . . is love. In the Christian West we are accustomed to rattling off the statement “God is love” [1 John 4: 8, 16]. . . . Love is a relational word, and that relationship presumes duality, or twoness, “because,” in the words of Valentin Tomberg (1900-1973), “love is inconceivable without the Lover and the Loved, without ME and YOU, without One and the Other.” [3] In order for love to manifest, there must first be duality. . . . In the words of another Sufi maxim whose truth is apparent to anyone who has ever experienced the sublime dance of recognition and mutual becoming at the heart of all love: “You are the mirror in which God sees himself.” [Doug: Ra defines Love in 27.12: “The term Love then may be seen as the focus, the choice of attack, the type of energy of an extremely, shall we say, high order which causes intelligent energy to be formed from the potential of intelligent infinity in just such and such a way.” From then, Light, the 3rd primal distortion from Infinity, is resultant from the action of free will upon love, (ref 54.27). Ra also says that gazing in the mirror, gazing at other-selves, and gazing at creation are all ways of gazing at the Creator.  And when those “external” things gaze back at you, then that, too, is the Infinite Creator looking at you, (ref 10.14).  Here are three other Ra quotes that speak of this kind of Love: Your-Higher-Self

“You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One.” 1.7 (refers to how we ARE the Infinite Creator and our nature is love)

The original desire is that entities seek and become one. 20.27 (refers to love’s urgent longings with all of the desiring and seeking between the Infinite Creator and It’s Manyness)

[There is] the simple principle of the constant or Creator and the transient or the incarnate being and the yearning existing between the two, one for the other, in love and light amidst the distortions of free will acting upon the illusion-bound entity. 39.6

. . . As we begin orienting ourselves on the Wisdom road map, it is with the recognition that our manifest universe is not simply an “object” created by a wholly other God out ofbig bang the effluence of [God’s] love but is that love itself, made manifest in the only possible way that it can, in the dimensions of energy and form. The created realm is not an artifact but an instrument through which the divine life becomes perceptible to itself. It’s the way the score gets transformed into the music.
